Kids Korner Learning Center

At Kids Korner Learning Center we approach each lesson plan with developmental benchmarks and children’s interests in mind. We believe in expanding the curriculum, as the children experience the world around them.  By giving ample time to explore, and time to investigate their interests, we are able to implement Creative Curriculum. Our lesson plans are designed to follow Washington State Developmental Guidelines and are highly individualized.  Our teachers assess the children’s progress 3 times a year using Teaching Strategies Gold and adjust their weekly plans accordingly. During their day, children will experience a wide variety of activities, catering to all learning styles. We work in conjunction with the school district to make sure our children meet kindergarten readiness goals for their first public school experience.  Parents will be notified and permission will be asked for any field trips the center may go on. Parent involvement in these fun activities is encouraged! 

SCHOOL WIDE CURRICULUM STUDIES

Our Creative Curriculum provides teachers with intentional teaching topics that are flexibile enough to allow childrens interests to be explored. These studies are specifically related to the world around them, and are focused on experiences and concepts that pertain to their local community and cultures.

SCREENING TOOLS

Kids Korner Learning Center believes that in order for children to have the best learning outcomes, we must track their growth at each developmental milestone. Within the first 45 days after enrollment, staff will complete a milestone evaluation. This evaluation will be shared with parents. Our staff is also required to do 3 rounds of documentation, using the online tool Teaching Strategies Gold.  This program allows us to track development, in order to better format our lesson plans to meet individual goals. Parents will receive these reports in their child’s cubby. Teacher conferences regarding these reports will be held upon parental request.
